What qualifications does an ISR instructor have?
ISR Instructors are the most highly trained and qualified instructors in any swimming program in the country and must undergo strict re-certification testing annually. Each instructor is academically trained and tested in areas such as child psychology, physiology, anatomy and behavioral science to provide the safest lesson possible for your child. All ISR Instructors share a common commitment to the mission that "Not one more child drowns" The ISR instructor training program includes a minimum of 60 hours of supervised in-water training plus extensive education and testing in subjects such as child psychology, anatomy and physiology, and behavioral science.
All instructors are required to maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.
Training as an instructor is a serious undertaking as each ISR instructor is carefully screened through extensive interviews and reference checks before qualifying to earn certification.
In addition, all instructors must complete rigorous re-certification requirements annually to maintain their affiliation with the program.
